Volume IX of the RGS Story from Sundance is out. Subtitled "Over the Bridges from Grady to Durango," it has many never before published photos of operations on the South End of the RGS. This is an area of the railroad that has been much neglected in historical works and it is great to see that so much has surfaced on the 'unknown' part of the Southern.
Many fine new photos of my favorite, C-19 No. 41, which seemed to hide from the photographers by staying on the South End.
McCoy and company say there will be a tenth volume in the series which will be a summary and also provide an opportunity to publish photos of previously covered areas that have been unearthed during the production. Makes an impressive set.
I remember when _Silver_San_Juan_ came out back in '73 thinking that surely every photo ever taken of the RGS must have been published then. How happily wrong I was!
