Re: RGS Box cars: Highly Unlikely

The evidence is not absolutely conclusive, but it appears highly unlikely that any of the the Miller/RGS cars ended up on the WP&YR.
First, there were 174 ex-C&S freight cars (not counting the 4-wheel cabooses) that ended up on the WP&YR. The corresponding C&S numbers of 20 of these 174 cars are known, and all of these 20 came directly from the C&S, none via Miller/RGS.
Second, during the critical time period, the C&S delivered directly 184 steel underframe cars, 10 more than needed to fill the Army order for the WP&YR. No Miller/RGS cars were needed to fill the WP&YR related order.
Third, the 1943 USATC 7th Zone contracts spread sheets show that the WP&YR related contracts were all with the CFCP Co. Denver office, none with the CFCP Co. Pueblo office. The contract related to the Miller/RGS cars appears to have been completed before performance began on the WP&YR related contracts. The contract(s) for the Miller/RGS cars probably would have been with the CFCP Co. Pueblo office.
There still is some metaphysical possibility that a Miller/RGS car ended up on the White Pass, but it appears highly unlikely.
