Personally, I look forward to buying tickets to ride behind the #20 when she's up-n-running again.
That aside, I think El Nehi's post is more along the lines of: You have a Shelby Cobra 427 that is 100% stock, but with a cracked engine block, the steering is worn out, shocks are bottomed out, the tires are bald, the windshild is cracked and all the electrical wiring is shot.
Better to leave it as is and build a replica, or do you replace the stock parts for new and drive it?
Mind you, that's not my question. That's just my interpretation of El Nehi's statment plugged into in your example.
