O.K...I saw the truck in question over 20 years ago. It was about 20-25 feet south of one of the middle footings of bridge 45-a , about 20 feet above the waters of Howard Fork. It was definitely from a pre-1900 era car ,like a 2000 series box . Got any documentation on how it got there ? Any ideas at all how it got there? Absolute statements like "no cars ever went off RGS bridges" just plain hack me off . It's unfortunate that the RGS (the Elvis of all shortlines)attracts people who are all "experts".
I don't know where those trucks came from .Could you accept the possibility that they came from a car that fell off the bridge ? Besides ,how about the often-published photo of the two engines that went through the bridge near Vance Junction ? Do you think any train cars followed those locomotives ?
