I'm building a model of a D&RGW "short caboose" in the 1947 era, and I have a question of the size of the facia or "letterboards" which are immediately beneath the roof on each side of the car. From a picture, they appear to be 7" high, run the length of the car and be 1/2" or 3/4" thick. I originally thought they were 1" thick, but that appears to make them seem "too heavy". Anyone got a caboose in their back yard that can tell me for sure ? (I think a long one has the same size, but none of those are too handy).
