Fire season already?!

This morning there was a fire started in the animas canyon around MP 481.2. By the afternoon the fire had run quite a ways up the hill and IS burning out of control. There were helicopters dumping water on the blaze by around 2:30pm. Who knows how much acreage this fire will consume. It is around 3 miles north of the blaze that the D&S started last year above Cascade Canyon. Sure seems a little early for fires of this magnitude doesn't it?
