pilot plow brackets

I recall not long ago there was discussion on which loco's had the ability to have a pilot plow attached. I noticed in one of my video's that while the 497 was in Durango with the D&S that it didn't have these brackets, but you could clearly see where they used to be. The video was taken in 1988. When the 497 came to the C&T did it have the pilot plow brackets or were they added by shop crews in Chama, if so when was this done. It is nice to see the 497 sporting the pilot plow this year!
