When we had the last motion picture shown at the Lode Theater in Silverton, it was Ticket to Tomahawk. This was back in the 1980s after the theater had been closed for several months, but still intact. We managed to find a mint condition 35mm print of the film from a film rental company in Chicago. The color was spectacular, there were no breaks or splices. We also showed a vintage Bugs Bunny cartoon prior to the main show. We had a packed house and those who hadn't been to the show in several years because of their cable TV were amazed at how nice a real motion picture looked. Everyone was atuned to Marilyn's appearance and she shines on the big screen in that movie. Kids who played as extras and were well along as adults could point to themselves in the movie. It was a special event of a special film.

I have also been lucky to attend the world premier of Denver & Rio Grande in Denver when it first came out, and later saw Night Passage on the screen in Denver when it first came out, as well as Around the World in 80 Days when it was showing at Denver's Tabor Theater. I guess that makes me sort of an old fart.
