Thank You to Mr. Rob Rossi for his generosity in sharing the finest "back yard railroad"
west of Orbisonia - or probably west of the Danube.
It was especially great to finally meet Jeff, Karrell and Ed face-to-face; they have been putting up with my smart-ass comments and warped Weird-Al-Wannabe lyrics for more than two years, and it's good to know they are every bit as warm and likable in person as they are on the NGDF.
Special thanks also to Brad, whose hospitality in treating me to a warm-up cab ride on my arrival, and again just before departure, saved my schnoz and fingers from probable frostbite on a rather blustery day.* The sun finally showed itself late in the afternoon, and all signs are that tomorrow will be one of those special sunny Southern California / Central Coast bright December days.
If anyone reading this lives within a couple of hours of Santa Margarita - about 15 minutes north of San Luis Obispo - don't miss the second day of the Christmas Festival on the Pacific Coast Railroad at Santa Margarita Ranch tomorrow - Sunday, December 9
th, 10am-4pm. A $5.00 donation per vehicle is requested to partially offset the costs of the festival, but once there you can ride the trains all day for free. See [
