I don't know if this will help, but the Houston Railroad Museum is not terribly far from that area. I went by there about a year and a half ago, nice collection of rolling stock. It was a nice way to take a break from a grueling trial I was working on as an engineering expert witness. My wife actually went there with me on our anniversary!
