497's whistle.

There is something odd about 497's whistle this year. It seems to be much louder and more shrill than I remember. When I heard it, Earl Knoob was at the throttle. Does anyone know anything about that whistle?
Chama was great, even if it had to be a quick trip. I ended up bringing home a puppie from there, complicating my trip, but the railfanning was as good as it gets.
